“I can’t be bothered” in French!

This article explains how to say I can’t be bothered in French. Just like English, when you have no energy to do something you could say ‘J’ai la flemme’. It means ‘I can’t be bothered’.

For those interested in knowing what you are literally saying:

  • J’ai means I have
  • la flemme means laziness

You are therefore saying ‘I have the laziness’.

You should use the phrase in the same way as we say ‘I can’t be bothered’ in English, so you should be careful when you use it.
